Low Profile Ceiling Fans
Low profile ceiling fans represent some of
our more popular ceiling fan styles, both for their styling and for
their practicality. These flushmount style ceiling fixtures mount
flush to the top of the ceiling, creating a smoother, even look.
They are perfect for applications where the ceiling height is an
issue, or where people have to walk under the ceiling
fan.
One of the more popular places to install
a low profile ceiling fan is in the kitchen. This allows you
to provide some cooling in a hot kitchen environment. You must
always keep the fan blades clean in order to keep dust from falling
off the blades into the food you might be preparing. Many people
choose to use an all-white ceiling fan with light because they
disappear into a white ceiling.
Buying a low profile ceiling fan with a
remote control adds to the convenience of a ceiling fan. There is
no need for long chains hanging down for you to walk into. You can
connect some fans to a simple switch and do not need fancy
electrical work done to be able to control the light and fan
separately.
Installing most ceiling fans today is
simple, as most come packaged very well, with clear and concise
instructions. The quality of the materials are much improved as
well. Fan motors are generally pretty heavy pretty heavy, but will
usually add a hook to hang the motor from as you install it. On
newer models, blades will usually just snap in and can be removed
if necessary by releasing a hidden catch. That is a very nice
feature in fans today.
Look for a ceiling fan that is Energy Star
rated, which will save on your power bill. Another feature to
consider is whether you need a fan with a light fixture or not. Try
one that uses florescent lighting if you are installing the fan in
a place that dowa not need intense light.
Look for one of the many styles of low
profile ceiling fans that claim to be very quiet. There is nothing
more annoying than installing a fan in say, a bedroom, only to find
out is is very noisy.
